**WhatsApp messaging to Kaspi customers: why it doesn't work | AWW**

> Kaspi does not give the seller a buyer’s phone number on delivery orders, so no service can broadcast to Kaspi customers on WhatsApp. Why that is, and what works instead.

# WhatsApp messaging to Kaspi customers doesn't work

Neither AWW nor any other service on this market. The reason is technical: to send a message you need the customer's phone number, and Kaspi does not provide it to the seller.

Updated: 11 September 2026

## In short

- **There is no list.** For delivery orders the buyer’s number stays inside Kaspi. It’s impossible to extract a list for mailings.
- **This is a marketplace rule, not a service limitation.** No integration can bypass it: the buyer’s data is simply not released.
- **We removed this module.** This page previously promoted WhatsApp AI-Sender. The feature is gone and the page now explains why.
- **If a service promises messaging to Kaspi customers** — ask where it gets the buyer’s number. One question and it answers everything.

## What Kaspi gives to the seller and what it doesn't

A seller on Kaspi sees the order: what was bought, quantity, delivery address, delivery status, and when the money will arrive. That’s enough to pack and fulfill the order. What the order does not contain are buyer contacts in a form that can be exported and used for marketing.

The platform's logic is clear from the buyer's perspective. The person bought from Kaspi, not a specific shop: they trusted the marketplace, its installment plan, and its delivery. Giving their phone number to thousands of sellers would turn a purchase into a subscription to messages from everyone. So order communication happens inside the platform and personal data is not exposed.

The practical consequence is simple: **a list of customer numbers you can message does not appear for a Kaspi seller**. And messaging without a list is not a feature you can "enable" — it's a task without source data.

## Why it's still being sold

"WhatsApp messaging" remains listed as a feature by some Kaspi automation services, and in advertising it sounds convincing: repeat sales, customer return, order confirmations. When you look closer, the wording usually hides one of three things.

### Your own database

The service messages numbers you collected yourself: offline store, pickup, social media, site chat. The tool works, but it has nothing to do with Kaspi, and calling it "messaging to Kaspi customers" is misleading.

### Reply to the one who wrote first

The buyer found your number and messaged you. This is a conversation, not a mailing: the initiative is theirs, there is no mass reach, and it does not create a database.

### The feature exists only on the landing page

An item in the features list that either cannot be enabled or is enabled but sends nothing. Verify it before paying with one question to support: where does the service get the buyer’s number for a delivery order?

We went through this ourselves: the module existed, called WhatsApp AI-Sender, and this page promoted it. It couldn't work in practice for the same reason as everyone else, so we closed new shop signups and eventually removed the module entirely.

## What happens if you collect numbers yourself

Some numbers can indeed be obtained legally: the buyer picked up an order and left a contact, subscribed to your channel, or filled a warranty card. From there it’s an area where mistakes are most common.

First — consent. Kazakh data protection law requires a person’s consent to process their data, and "they bought from us" is not consent. Storing proof of consent is your obligation, not a formality for inspections.

Second — WhatsApp's rules. The platform forbids messages recipients did not expect and reacts to the recipients' "block" button, not regulator complaints. A few complaints are enough to have a number restricted or blocked — the very number you use daily to coordinate orders. The cost of that mistake is asymmetric: mailing gains are measured in percentage points of conversion, the loss is a working communication channel.

Third — effect. A message like "we have new products" to someone who bought a kettle via the marketplace reads as spam because it is spam. The buyer remembers buying on Kaspi, not from your shop, and is surprised where the shop got their number.

## What actually affects repeat sales

A marketplace buyer returns not because of a message but because they found your product first again and the previous order went smoothly. That means the levers are not in the messenger.

- **Price and position.** Buybox is won based on price and delivery conditions. Here a [Repricer with a min–max corridor](https://aww.kz/en/repricer/) works: it keeps position without dropping the price below the profit threshold.
- **Availability.** Zero stock on a demand day is a lost sale that won't return. [Demand forecast](https://aww.kz/en/analytics/) warns in advance, and [pre-order](https://aww.kz/en/predzakaz/) lets you sell while supply is en route.
- **Speed and accuracy of fulfillment.** Also [invoice merging](https://aww.kz/en/sklejka-nakladnyh/): a batch of orders prints as one file instead of twenty.
- **Reviews and rating.** They form inside Kaspi based on order results and affect search much more than any mailing.
- **Economics of the position.** [Profit analytics](https://aww.kz/en/calc/) shows which products generate turnover and which lose money — promoting the latter by any channel is pointless.

All of the above is included in AWW and free during the open launch period. Details — [on the pricing page](https://aww.kz/en/pricing/), and machine-readable — in [/api/v1/aww.json](https://aww.kz/api/v1/aww.json), including a block about what the product does not do. WhatsApp messaging to customers is intentionally not listed there.

## What you can do with WhatsApp

The messenger is not forbidden to sellers — what is forbidden is messaging people who did not ask for it. The difference between "cannot" and "can" follows one line: who started the conversation and whether there is consent.

- **Reply to someone who messaged first.** The buyer found your number and asked a question — this is normal conversation and there are no restrictions. Many shops list a number in the description and handle warranty and compatibility questions this way.
- **Service messages with consent.** If the person left a number at pickup and confirmed they want order-related messages — status updates, pickup reminders, address clarifications. This is about a specific order, not new products.
- **Your own database with confirmed consent.** Offline store customers, subscribers, promotion participants. Usual rules: explicit consent, one-step opt-out, and storing proof.
- **Official WhatsApp Business API.** Messages outside the 24-hour window are sent only via pre-approved templates and only to those who have opted in. It's a working but fully permission-based channel — it won't turn into messaging a third party's customer list.

None of these scenarios gives what people usually mean by "WhatsApp messaging for Kaspi": taking everyone who bought from you on the marketplace and sending them an offer. That scenario does not exist.

## How to verify a service that promises messaging

It takes five minutes and can save a monthly subscription. Ask these questions before paying and in writing, not by phone.

1. **Where does the buyer’s number for a delivery order come from?** The main question. Any answer other than "we don't receive it" should be demonstrated on a demo account.
2. **Show the contacts list that will be compiled from my orders.** Not a screenshot of the UI but a real export for a test shop.
3. **Whose sender number is used?** If it's yours — the blocking risks are yours. If it's a service number — ask about deliverability after the first complaints.
4. **How is recipient consent collected?** If there's no answer, there's no consent, and you remain responsible for the mailing.
5. **Is the function included in the plan you're buying?** Sometimes it's only available on the top tier — or "in development" for the second year running.

The same approach works beyond messaging: many products on this market are sold as a list of features that nobody checks. We keep prices and service specs openly — with the date we copied them from official sites: [comparison of Kaspi automation services](https://aww.kz/en/compare/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I send WhatsApp messages to Kaspi customers?

No. To send a message you need the customer’s phone number, and Kaspi does not provide the buyer’s number to the seller for delivery orders. A mailing list simply does not exist — neither for you nor for any service that promises to collect it.

### So why do services advertise WhatsApp messaging for Kaspi?

Usually one of three things is behind the wording: messaging to numbers you collected yourself outside Kaspi; replying to a buyer who contacted first; or the feature is only claimed on the landing page and does not work. Ask directly where the service gets the buyer’s number — that question clears everything up.

### What if I collect numbers manually — from pickup points or receipts?

Technically some numbers can be collected, but that becomes your database and your responsibility. Messaging without the person’s consent violates data protection law and WhatsApp rules: numbers that receive complaints get restricted or blocked, including the number you use daily to communicate with customers.

### Does Kaspi not allow contacting the buyer at all?

For delivery orders, communication happens inside Kaspi intentionally: the marketplace protects the buyer’s data and does not give it to sellers for marketing. You can answer order-related questions, but you cannot send promotional mailings to a customer list.

### What actually affects repeat sales on Kaspi?

Search position and price, product page quality, availability and delivery time, rating and reviews. A buyer returns not because of a messenger message but because they found your product first and their previous order went smoothly.

### Will AWW ever bring this module back?

Only if Kaspi’s rules change. As long as the marketplace does not share buyer phone numbers, promising a mailing list means selling something that does not exist; we removed the module and explained why.

### What should I do with an already collected customer list?

If people gave consent to receive messages — use standard mailing tools and keep proof of consent. Just don’t call it “messaging to Kaspi customers”: it’s your own database collected outside the marketplace.

## What used to be on this page

Until September 2026 this page promoted the WhatsApp AI-Sender module: auto-replies to buyers, mass mailings with segmentation, and review collection. In summer we closed new shop signups and then removed the module entirely from the site, the mobile app, and our public data.

The reason is exactly as described above and was out of our control: without the buyer’s number, messaging Kaspi customers is technically impossible. Keeping the feature listed while knowing this is selling air — even if the product is free, that line still costs the seller time configuring something that won't work.

We intentionally kept the page address. The question "how to do WhatsApp messaging to Kaspi customers" is asked constantly, and most of the market answers with advertising. Let this address provide the answer.
